How a job gets done matters as much as whether it gets done. Grounded Ethos is our standard for the first part — a plain set of convictions about doing good work, and a commitment to hold to them even when no one would notice if we didn't.

Most businesses know what good work looks like. Fewer hold the line on it when a deadline looms or a shortcut beckons. Grounded Ethos is our way of holding the line: a plain set of convictions about how work should be done, and a promise to do it that way even when no one would notice if we didn't.

None of it is complicated. It is the way good work has always been done. We have just written it down so we can be held to it.

Our Convictions

What we stand for.

We would rather look after a handful of clients properly than fill the book and stretch ourselves thin. Fewer engagements, done well, is the whole point.
The work is better when you trust the person doing it, and trust takes time. We are not chasing the next invoice; we are trying to still be useful to you in five years.
Not everything should be automated or rushed. The parts that matter, we do slowly and properly, the way a craftsman would.
Most problems have a plain answer buried under a complicated one. Our job is to dig out the plain one, not dress it back up.
A system should serve the people using it, not box them in. Judgement, and a real conversation, still count for more than any template.
You should be stronger when we finish than when we started, and able to keep it going without us. If you still need us to run it, we have not finished the job.
