Grounded Ethos is two things at once: a personal commitment to the natural world — to conservation, anti-poaching, and the people closest to the land — and a management consulting practice that helps conservation operations run better.
Our Mission
Conservation begins with proximity — not a campaign or a corporate donation, but actual time in the field, a relationship with the land, and a working understanding of what it takes to protect it. That proximity is what Grounded Ethos was built from.
Conservation isn’t the domain of scientists and large institutions alone. The landowner deciding how to use their land, the reserve manager balancing financial sustainability against ecological integrity, these decisions matter as much as any field study. Grounded Ethos works alongside them.
More conservation operations that are financially sustainable. More landowners who understand the management disciplines that protect what they own. More land protected as a result. That is the goal.

Illegal wildlife trafficking and poaching remain among the greatest threats to Africa's biodiversity. Grounded Ethos supports awareness initiatives that highlight the impact of poaching and the importance of community-led conservation.
Providing accessible information covering wildlife identification, biodiversity awareness, ecosystem understanding, and responsible outdoor behaviour.
Documenting wildlife encounters, ecological observations, and conservation initiatives from the field.
Working with Conservation Operations
Grounded Ethos brings management consulting discipline to conservation operations, the operational and commercial challenges that conservation organisations face and rarely have the right support for.
