SRV Summit · Conservation Initiative

A personal commitment to conservation.
A professional practice built around it.

Grounded Ethos is two things at once: a personal commitment to the natural world — to conservation, anti-poaching, and the people closest to the land — and a management consulting practice that helps conservation operations run better.

Our Mission

Why conservation matters
to us personally.

Conservation begins with proximity — not a campaign or a corporate donation, but actual time in the field, a relationship with the land, and a working understanding of what it takes to protect it. That proximity is what Grounded Ethos was built from.

Conservation isn’t the domain of scientists and large institutions alone. The landowner deciding how to use their land, the reserve manager balancing financial sustainability against ecological integrity, these decisions matter as much as any field study. Grounded Ethos works alongside them.

More conservation operations that are financially sustainable. More landowners who understand the management disciplines that protect what they own. More land protected as a result. That is the goal.

Protect what can’t speak for itself.

Areas of Focus

What we stand for.

01

Wildlife Conservation

Protecting species, ecosystems, and natural habitats. Promoting biodiversity awareness, human-wildlife coexistence, and species conservation across Southern Africa.

02

Environmental Protection

Advocating for responsible land use, habitat preservation, pollution reduction, and sustainable outdoor practices.

03

Wildlife Rescue Awareness

Supporting awareness around the responsible rescue, relocation, and rehabilitation of wildlife. Promoting best practices and the importance of qualified rescue efforts.

04

Anti-Poaching Awareness

Illegal wildlife trafficking and poaching remain among the greatest threats to Africa's biodiversity. Grounded Ethos supports awareness initiatives that highlight the impact of poaching and the importance of community-led conservation.

05

Conservation Education

Providing accessible information covering wildlife identification, biodiversity awareness, ecosystem understanding, and responsible outdoor behaviour.

06

Field Observation & Documentation

Documenting wildlife encounters, ecological observations, and conservation initiatives from the field.

Working with Conservation Operations

Management consulting that makes conservation operations viable.

Grounded Ethos brings management consulting discipline to conservation operations, the operational and commercial challenges that conservation organisations face and rarely have the right support for.

  • Operational structure and efficiency, how the reserve or conservancy functions day to day
  • Financial sustainability: revenue model, cost structure, and long-term viability
  • Business cases for conservation transitions, the financial logic of moving from agriculture to game or developing eco-tourism
  • Governance and reporting frameworks: for conservancies, trusts, and grant-funded operations
  • Community and stakeholder engagement, structured, accountable relationship management
  • ESG narrative and impact reporting: helping operations articulate their conservation value to funders, investors, and guests
  • Eco-tourism commercial strategy, the business model behind the conservation asset

Where engagements need ecological, legal, or environmental specialist input, Grounded Ethos works with qualified Delivery Partners.
